SPN Ogilvy organized the grand launch ceremony of the Hewlett-Packard PC production in Russia

On 28 April SPN Ogilvy organized a launch ceremony of the Hewlett-Packard PC manufacturing plant, the first production project in the IT industry in Russia established by Hewlett-Packard and Foxconn.

The ceremony was attended by the St Petersburg City Governor Valentina Matvienko, Vice Governor of St Petersburg Mikhail Oseyevskiy, Executive Vice President of Hon Hai Precision Industry Corp. Jim Chang, Senior Vice President of HP Personal Systems Group (EMEA) Eric Cador, CEO of Foxconn Rus Andrey Korzhakov and CEO of HP Russia  Alexander Mikoyan.

HP and Foxconn top managers, together with the Governor, launched the PC production and put their signatures on the first HP computer manufactured in Russia. Guests of the ceremony were shown the PC production process, from placing an order to taking the ready PC off the production line.

Despite the current economic situation HP and Foxconn keep on developing production in Russia. The production launch will become a new stage in the Russian IT industry development and give an impulse to creation of new and modernization of existing enterprises producing electronic devices in Russia.

Earlier, in 2008, SPN Ogilvy organized the groundbreaking ceremony of the HP plant in St Petersburg.
