On June 2, 2010 SPN Ogilvy organized a series of events dedicated to the launch of the first Kimberly-Clark production in Russia. The plant is situated in Stupino (the Moscow region). The new enterprise is equipped with two production lines to manufacture Huggies diapers.

On June 2 in the morning eight business breakfasts for top managers of Kimberly-Clark head and regional offices were organized, which took place at the same time in several administrative premises at the plant. The business breakfasts were followed by a press conference featuring global heads of the corporation. This was the first press conference of Kimberly-Clark in Russia.

After that, the grand opening ceremony was held. The event was attended by over 300 guests. The ceremony was held in a tent installed near the plant. The concept of the event was “The Birth of Joy”: the opening of the new plant was compared to the birth of a baby. This idea was illustrated by a short movie shot by SPN Ogilvy for the event. The tent, according to the concept, was decorated with pictures of babies from the collections of professional photographers.

Top managers of Kimberly-Clark and government officials cut the ribbon and signed the plant’s Certificate of Birth (a document given to every baby born in Russia. The exact copy of the document made of metal will be displayed in the plant’s premises afterwards). After that the guests watched the launch of the production line broadcasted live from the plant. The start button was pressed by the plant director Uri Dror and a young mom, one of the most active users of The Moms’ City, an online club supported by the Huggies brand.

On the occasion of the plant opening Kimberly-Clark gave an innovative diagnostic ultrasound system to one of Stupino healthcare institutions.

The ceremony was wrapped up by tours around the plant and a reception.

After the official ceremony within one hour the tent was prepared for an employee event. The meeting was attended by over 400 employees of the plant and Kimberly-Clark Moscow office. The global heads of Kimberly-Clark presented the company’s international business development strategy to the Russian staff. After that the employees of the Moscow office were taken on a tour around the plant.

The event gathered 85 media impressions in nationwide and regional periodicals for the first week. Several exclusive materials are expected in a number of business periodicals.

The new Kimberly-Clark plant currently employs 200 people, of which 90% are Stupino residents. The plant specialists have taken training courses at Kimberly-Clark enterprises in the US, Europe, Latin America and Korea.  The Russian plant is to become the largest Kimberly-Clark production in Eastern Europe.

Kimberly-Clark and its well-known global brands are an indispensable part of life of people in more than 150 countries. Every day, 1.3 billion people - nearly a quarter of the world's population - trust K-C brands and solutions they provide to enhance the quality of their health, hygiene and well-being.
